Periodontal Plastic Tissue - Purpose & Objectives

Management, Sutures Techniques, Gingival Grafting (autologus,  alloplastic tissue and  Microsurgery).

Soft and hard tissue are a major part of aesthetics dental treatment. This course will focus on how suture techniques and tissue manipulation can affect the outcome of plastic periodontal treatment by maximizing the sought esthetic.

This course will include a didactic portion as well as a hands-on where participants will practice suture and both soft and hard tissue on specially customized typodonts.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course participants will have learned:

  • Review suturing materials and instrumentation for both regular and microsurgery techniques.
  • Wound healing and physiological considerations at the cellular, molecular and clinical level.
  • To perform soft tissue grafting: connective tissue, dermal alloplast using microsurgery and PRP.
  • To perform hard tissue periodontal plastic crown lengthening using surgical stents and microsurgery instruments.
  • To perform suturing techniques for optimum aesthetics results.
